Samsung Galaxy S10e, Android 11.
I just noticed Gone Mad Music Player Unlocker display a brief notification that it was verifying license. I checked notification history and found it had verified license 109 times in the past 24 hours. Why is this happening so often?

license check happens whenever the music service is started. 99.99% of the checks are from cache and dont query google play. The only reason a notification pops up briefly is because a notification is required to launch a service (the license check) from the background (non ui). Android is very aggressive in killing background services (and also relaunching them in the background without user interaction.. something like a widget or android 11 notifications would trigger it).

Thanks, I'm not concerned about the temporary notifications, I was concerned that this continual checking would use excessive battery, but I checked and it appears normal. I don't believe I have seen ongoing license checks like this from other apps, but I haven't used GoneMad for a while and the last check was 17 hours ago, so it does appear to be related to using it.

yea doesnt use battery at all (runs for like 1 second). most apps dont need to talk to another "app" to do a license check. GMMP was released 10 years ago before IAP and everything like that and since i have many users not using google play, it didnt make much sense to change from the original unlocker model used since the beginning. The license check is in a service in the unlocker and the trial starts the service for a second or 2 to run the check and get the result back. Up until recently the check was done without a notification, but google changed the requirements to force notifications on the services when they are running
