Indeed, the scan paths were cleared. I re-added them after 3.0 upgrade, right. As it seems, they were also deleted from the recent update 3.0.1 to 3.0.2. The invisible widget after boot issues happens with my Samsung S10. Thank you for the fast support my wife has the s10 so hopefully i can recreate with that. i am also curious if its related to the battery optimizations. I know they get applied by default to apps on newer devices

Even though Android removed the functionality for album art on the lockscreen, I used to be able to make my own "live wallpaper" with the KLWP app, which basically takes the cover of the currently playing song and sets it as the wallpaper. With GMMP 2, this worked great, but since 3.0, the KLWP app does not see the cover anymore when I'm playing music in GMMP. Did something change about the way GMMP broadcasts the album cover (I do have the setting turned on)? Other music apps do still work, it's just GMMP that has stopped since the update. gmmp should broadcast everything the same way. KLWP should be grabbing any playing metadata and artwork via its mediasession which has been standard since android 5.0 (its also how art gets sent over bluetooth and some phones get the album art to show in the background of the lockscreen.. my motorola phones did they by default). When things die down i can take a look at KLWP as i am not familiar with it.. only know if its existence. If its developer is active it might be worthwhile to ask him GMMP specifically uses: developer.android.com/reference/android/media/session/MediaSession#setMetadata(android.media.MediaMetadata)developer.android.com/reference/android/media/MediaMetadata.Builder#putBitmap(java.lang.String,%20android.graphics.Bitmap) with the album art key developer.android.com/reference/android/media/MediaMetadata#METADATA_KEY_ALBUM_ART2.x did this as well. Hmm okay, it's weird that it stopped working then. I looked for a KLWP forum but it's dead so I don't think I can get it solved via that route. If you have time to look into this, that would be great, although I understand that you're busy with other stuff as well. To check if it works, the only thing that should be done is open a new KLWP wallpaper, add an image, click on it and set its bitmap to the calculator and the value to $mi(cover)$, that should make the image follow the metadata cover at all times so by playing a random song the image should change. For me, that works with other apps but not GMMP. In any case thanks for your quick responses!

... 3.0.4 ... -Added ability to rename library tabs (Toolbar Menu - Customize - Enabled Views - Rename) ... Thank you so much for all your great effort with version 3.0 and the recent updates... your releases are very much appreciated. Regarding 3.0.4: Now that renaming of library tabs is supported again – why not support lower-case letters? If someone wants it to be upper-case, he can still apply upper-case letters. It would improve readabilty, IMHO.

I deleted the database to get a fresh scan after updating to 3.0.4. The scanner would start but stall almost immediately. The status bar indicator was there, notification was stuck at 1 for a full 10 minutes before timing out. I tried a couple of the usual things like a reboot, force stopping the app, deleting and restoring the scan paths, etc. But I was only able to get it back to do a full proper scan after revoking the OS permissions for the storage, then restoring them. Works now, but if anyone else has any issues this was my fix. LG G8thinQ on Android 10 stock.

Random things seems to break like the apps internal state just gets messed up. I changed absolutely nothing related to permissions. Its one of the reasons why i will recommend clearing the data/cache or just reinstalling. Doesnt give the android installer a chance to mess up applying an update. I think its related to some optimization the play store does.. it will actually only download a smaller portion of the apk (basically a diff between old and new). Wish it would just download the apk that i upload fully instead of that partial stuff. it clearly causes issues

im not really doing anything special here. Only one artist i have the sort order tag populated: imgur.com/a/TRlVMGmOk after some investigation here's what I found: 1. When I enter the sort value manually in the Tag Editor it works as expected (i.e I put in 'Beatles, The' and it sorts The Beatles with the B's) 2. For sort tags that were read into the database from the mp3 file it does NOT work (i.e 'Apple, Fiona' is pulled from the mp3 tag and shows in the Tag Editor but she still shows up with the F's) 3. If I then delete 'Apple, Fiona' in the Tag Editor and save, and then go back into Tag Editor and re-enter 'Apple, Fiona' manually it works as it should, sorting her with the A's. (Edit: I'm actually finding if I go into Tag Editor and change the sort value to anything other than what was there originally it registers that change and sorts correctly. So just deleting ', Fiona' for example so the sort value is just Apple works. But re-saving it as the same value does not work.) 4. I also noticed that if I go back in and reverse the change (so like in the first example I delete 'Beatles, The' from the sort tags) it doesn't revert back to sorting by 'T', it keeps sorting by 'B' even though the sort tag is now empty in the Tag Editor. Hope this is helpful. Thanks for your help with this! The fact that you even have this feature is fantastic, as this is how I have things sorted in pretty much all of the other music libraries I use. Just an update, I was able to get the sort feature working by populating the ARTISTSORT tag with what I had in the ALBUMARTISTSORT tag. With ARTISTSORT populated it worked just by scanning the file so no manual update was necessary. I did a mass re-tagging in mp3 tag and it all seems to be working great. I love this feature, thanks for adding it!

Which view were you trying to sort that you had issues with... with just the albumartistsort tag used?

For the customize button on the Now Playing screen. There's play next/previous, also seek forwards/backwards. But what I'd really like to do is on button press jump back/forward 10 seconds. Did I miss where I could do this?
I've been with GoneMad Music player, I don't even know, at least five years it seems like. This new update is actually amazing, especially visually. I already bought the app forever ago, but do you have somewhere I can donate?

I actually hide the Artist view in my library. would have to look at the implementation but albumartist and artist are represented by the same database table since in many cases they are the same for a track, so there is a chance that something is odd with the query that its pulling the wrong sort field
