When changing tracks using the notification while another app has focus, the main Now Playing text details refresh, but album art remains as the same as the last playing. Changing tracks in Now Playing does update correctly, and tracking back afterwards also updates correctly. Alpha 5b on LG G5, running Oreo. sounds like the similar issue posted previously about the album art not updating that i have not been able to reproduce trello.com/c/SwYEejPS

GoneMAD will only hide and play simultaneously if I use the Recent apps button to create a split screen view but the app still dies when the phone sleeps at the 2 minute mark. In the past, the app was able to collapse, swipe away and still play while the phone was sleeping. Is this an Oreo thing? Not liking it. Lost all my playing stats after the Oreo update too.
Newest version of everything on Moto Z2 Play

sounds like your OS is killing the app. Turn off any battery saver things for it. Unless its crashing, gmmp plays bakc music in a foreground service which android is NOT supposed to kill. There is really nothing else that i can do to keep the thing running. That being said i do not have any issues on any of my devices. Are you referring to the alpha or 2.2.14? This is a thread for the alpha

I'm sorry for posting here, this will be my last. I'm not running Alpha, it's running 2.2.14. I did just now turn off battery optimization for GoneMAD, rebooted the phone, same result, the OS kills the app when using recent apps button or sleep mode. I will play with it. One media app I currently use does not behave this way however it is hardly usable the way I use GoneMad; VLC keeps playing in the background when collapsed or when phone is in sleep mode, it does not have battery optimization disabled nor does it show a 'background activity' on/off switch within the apps 'Battery usage' menu. Some apps of mine do have that switch, for example QuickPic shows a 'background activity' on/off switch (if that matters).

The alpha has been targettng api level 26+ for awhile now and i havent gotten the issues. Anyway, when it gets killed, take a logcat and email it in gonemadmusicplayer.blogspot.com/2014/07/how-to-get-logcat-system-log-to-help.htmlThe thing i dont get is when playing back music gmmp uses a foreground service.. which according to all of googles documentation should NOT ever get killed. (I also cannot reproduce the issue on any of my devices.. they play fine when i put in the background Do me a favor and try out the alpha and see if the behavior is in that. Its basically completely rewritten so i did things in different ways. If it doesnt get killed in the alpha then i can try to mirror when im doing there. You can install it side by side to 2.2.14 since its under a different package. Thanks edit: also send in an in app error report if you could. i need to see your settings. i just updated a moto e4 (same OS as you), lg k8, and nokia 2 and all 3 are playing in the background with the screen off. Also tested on a sony xz2 and nokia 7.1. I am guessing it has to do with something specific to your settings. Another user had mentioned the same thing and it stopped when he cleared the cache / did a reinstall.. but came back when restoring settings

UPDATE 2.2.15 fixed the app kill problem when hitting recent apps button or using sleep mode. THANKS! In the process, ALPHA has been installed, and so far so good with that on my Droid (MotoZ2 Play). I will be trying newest updates on both versions. You have great support here, much appreciated.

on 5b here this might be a stupid question, but the in app error report sends as soon as i press "ok" right? cuz when i press ok theres no screen that tells me if my error report has been sent or not, it just asks me to choose an app to share my error report with so i just choose my file explorer and it saves the error report as a txt, and i have no idea if im supposed to send this out or somethin

Not sure what using a file explorer would do.. perhaps save the text of it to a file (which you could then turn around and email me.. but thats not done automatically)

Alpha 6 is confirmed to have corrected all of the applied fixes, and the new features all seem to be working as expected so far as well. Thanks for posting! I’m on LG G6 with Oreo. GB

Weird question for y'all - is anybody experiencing reboots with Android Auto + GoneMAD? I haven't troubleshot it much yet, but if I've been using GoneMAD, and then plug my phone into my car with Android Auto, my phone reboots (sometimes). Before I blame GoneMAD, curious if anybody else has seen this issue (with GoneMAD or just with Android Auto in general - it may be having issues with something else)
Thanks! Eckless
