I was wondering if anyone here could recommend a good solution to syncing playlists from my Windows desktop to my Android phone. I currently use one of 2 approaches: 1) Transfer the files manually 2) Use MediaMonkey to sync a playlist. However, the problem with this is that the synced playlist doesn't actually appear as a playlist anywhere in the Android file system - it's just the playlist files that get synced
While approach 1 works very well, especially with GMMP, it can be a little too time-consuming, if you want to to transfer a set of tracks from various albums.
I have also heard of DoubleTwist, but I am not a huge iTunes user. I guess I might entertain the idea. I also heard that WinAmp can even sync playlists wirelessly, but that requires running and using WinAmp on both the Desktop and the Android phone, so it's optimal.
Any input is appreciated.

I thought mediamonkey had a way to transfer the playlist files over as well?

You're right. MM can export playlists if the "create playlists of Tracks newly added to the library' is checked' ( i.imgur.com/oawHw.png). Now, I can see my newly exported playlist(s) in Google's Play Music app, but I cannot see them in GMMP, under the 'playlists' tab. I even re-scanned my library after syncing with MM, but that didn't help.

If you know where mediamonkey saves the playlists.. be sure to add that to the scan paths in gmmp. Prefs -> scanner -> edit scan paths

Ok, I did just that. The playlists are saved by MM into /sdcard/Playlists dir. I added the dir to the scanner paths and forced it to re-scan my library, but the playlist still isn't appearing (and I also clicked 'refresh' for the playlists tab). The file extension of the playlist is .pla, if it helps.

Hmm, well I'll have to figure out if there's a way to change the playlist format used by MM. So far I'm not seeing an option for it.
