One thing that'd be nice, is if the various menus (album, artist, and in particular file browser) - would match what is currently playing.
I usually listen to my music collection on shuffle all, but say an artist comes up I want to now listen to - I'd like to press artist and have that artist as the default selection. Right now it give me an alphabetical list so I have to scroll and find the artist that's now playing. I've got about 20k songs - so that can take a bit. If only one thing followed, I'd vote for file browser - as that's how all my mp3s are organized (cd>artist>album>track).

the browser should have an option in the menu to "jump to playing" which will go straight to the current playing folder. I didnt want it to automatically go there (think how annoying it would be if you were navigating folders and a track changed.. reseting your location)
I do have in my todo list adding an option to jump straight to the artist/album from now playing

I didnt want it to automatically go there (think how annoying it would be if you were navigating folders and a track changed.. reseting your location) I don't have to imagine it - I had an mp3 player that did just that, and yes, it was very annoying. (I do exactly the same thing, and had also requested this same feature a while ago; its lack has been the one thing previously making GMP not totally perfect in my opinion.) That said, I just installed the current beta, and... I don't see such an option? Where should I be looking for it? Also speaking of menus, I'm still hoping Exit will end up back on the main menu, rather than the expanded menu you have to hit More to get...

its a menu option in the browser. "Jump To Playing"
I dont have any jump to (artist/album/folder/etc) in 1.3 but will def be in 1.4 since i pushed it back so many times
Preferences/Exit will always be at the end due to how i developed the dynamic menu system. Menu items specific to your current view show first, then the global one show after.
An alternative would be to enable the music service timeout. That way you can back out of the app and after 5 min or so the service shuts down and all the resources are completely cleared

Ah, yeah, I figured that out, where it is currently. That said, I would strongly encourage you for the final 1.3 to add that menu option to the context of Now Playing, as that's generally where you want to use it from (and where I expected it to be), and it'd be one less annoying click (clicks are annoying when you're driving, especially if you also have to scroll to the bottom of the list of items in the sidebar first ). Even better would be the ability to assign it to a gesture, but I'd take it just showing up in the list for now. Though obviously this is already way better than before.

Thanks for the holdover until 1.4, then . (You should totally still make an option for the items to be selectable, you should just also let the same commands get bound to gestures. That'd be pretty awesome.) Incidentally, the reason I mention the exit thing is cause I've notices sometimes if I put my player to sleep while GMP is running, when I bring it back out of sleep and open GMP again, it hangs. So I just close GMP before putting it to sleep, which was a couple less clicks a couple versions ago. But not the biggest deal ever.
