If I reinstall the trial available on Google Play v1.2.7 it works, its just the 1.3 beta 1 that doesn't

well the only way thats possible is if the signatures of the unlocker and the beta dont match. Both the 1.2.7 from google play (and the one available on my site), the unlocker, and the beta were all signed with the same key. The only possible way for the signatures to not match is a corrupted install (reinstall the trial and unlocker then), or you have a tampered version of the unlocker
my suggestion would be to just uninstall both and reinstall again

Did as you suggested and reinstalled both the 1.27 trial and the unlocker of Google Play.
If I do a search via Archos Appslib it finds a beta that is an older version (according to the change log) than the trial version, thats really weird. It then tells me the unlocker is not installed, going back to 1.27 fixes it
Now having to rescan everything in and I've said it before the scanner hangs and I have no idea why, if I manually scan each artist its ok. Not looking forward to that as it took hours last time.
I am thick does Google Play have the Beta 1.3 on it?
I may be extra thick but how do I get the direct download from Mediafire to install, my Archos does not recognise any files as executable and no update Gone Mad Media player option is given when I drag and drop it into the root directory or the gone mad music player directory

i discontinued support for appslib a long time ago.... i believe its version 1.0.9 that is on there
google play is only at 1.2.7.. the beta is only available through the mediafire link until its stable.. then i'll release 1.3.0 on google play
"I may be extra thick but how do I get the direct download from Mediafire to install, my Archos does not recognise any files as executable and no update Gone Mad Media player option is given when I drag and drop it into the root directory or the gone mad music player directory"
Installation:
1) Go to Settings -> Applications and be sure "Unknown Sources" is enabled 2) Run the apk installer for the unlocker
^^^^ you must do this for both the unlocker and the trial apks.. just copying the file over to the device does not install it... On the archos there should be some sort of file manager app that you can navigate and find the apk to run it
Verifying Unlocker: 1) In GMMP go to Menu -> Preferences -> About GMMP 2) If the unlocker is working correctly you should see "Full Version Unlocked" at the top.

also i know archos devices typically cannot purchase things from google play, so if you did purchase the unlocker from another device, you probably are not able to download and install it on to the archos. If this is the case, you can email me at gonemadsoftware@gmail.com i can verify the purchase and send you the unlocker apk to install on the archos

updated for beta 2: Beta 2: www.mediafire.com/?dvjjtddjjafabisSkins: www.mediafire.com/?m3iit7k0bel45t6Getting the skins working again made me realize there were a bunch of issues with the cyan and silver skin as well. So here is another update to get the skins to work. Cue support is still not present 1.3 Beta 2: -Removed unnecessary background transitions -Fixed potential crash with background album art -Fixed action bar background for main view and about view for external skins -Fixed some background color issues -Cyan and silver skin now show the correct background instead of album art -Save playlist and save preset edit text box is now skinned -Fixed crash that can occur in the error log using an external skin -Fixed delay in pausing on bluetooth disconnect on 3.0+ devices

-Fixed potential crash with background album art I can confirm that this fixed the problem for me. Thanks! The media controls are pretty huge on my Nexus, to the point that some of the text is cut off ( screenshot). Can the controls be resized? I've also found a bug with the artwork in the notification controls in 3.0+. The artwork gets stuck at the first album I play. Steps to reproduce: 1. Cleared app data for GMMP and the gmmp folder on the sdcard for a fresh install 2. Scanned for files 3. Played a song, and the album art is correct ( screenshot) 4. Changed the song manually to a different artist/album. All of the song info other than the album art changed ( screenshot) If I delete /mnt/sdcard/gmmp/albumart/thumbnail on my sdcard the issue fixes itself on the next song change. Edit: Included the notification album art bug

it appears my tablet must be using only one of the 2 layouts for the notification, which is why it fits... switch your phone to landscape and check the notification.. does it fit there?
on my tablet its ordered from left to right: album art, song info, player controls when in both portrait and landscape

New error discovered in beta 1 & 2, while playing a playlist with shuffle playlist on, gmmp is getting stuck in a loop of playing the same song over & over again,
30mins on same track untill i flicked through shuffle modes back to playlist shuffle, this did make gmmp choose a different 'next track', but became stuck in loop again after few songs.
Also i had no repeats turrned on and also tried out 'remove song from playlist after playing', but no help
No problems with 'Shuffle Collection'

So until I can fix the bug, set that to something other than 0.

Yeah that solved the problem. I was using 1.2.7 before installing the Beta's. I have now done a clean install of 1.3 beta 2
