Hi,
Firstly I have a small issue with using Co-Pilot Live and Gonemad Player as for some reason if I have Gonemad playing in the background & Co-Pilot running on the screen I don't hear any audible prompts/alerts from Co-Pilot UNLESS I have Co-Pilot set to full volume (which is WAAAY too loud). If I reduce the volume of Co-Pilot I only hear Gonemad, and I hear nothing from Co-Pilot until I turn Co-Pilot back to full volume. Its really weird it is not as if the volume dips for Co-Pilot I just hear only music. If I turn the volume from 90% to 100% then Co-Pilot chats away! (but as mentioned way too loud!) I have selected "Obey AudioFocus Requests" But this makes no difference....
On another note, this is not the setup I am looking for anyway as I do not want to see maps on my screen, I want to see Gonemad! but if I have Gonemad player displayed with Co-Pilot in the background I hear absolutely nothing from Co-Pilot. I really want to have the control of Gonemad (changing/searching for tracks etc) but DO want to hear if I have a turning coming up or a speed camera! This was how I had my car PC setup with Centrafuse & Ride Runner, I would really like to get this functionality back even if it means changing Sat Nav Program? Anyone got this seup working? is it a restriction of Co-Pilot?
Cheers

what version of android does your device have? (also what version of copilot) The audio request stuff only works in froyo and up... but im surprised you cant have both going at the same time. Is it that the volume isnt loud enough unless you have copilot at max.. or no sound comes out unless its at max?
i did test on my archos 5IT with copilot and it is quite hard to hear. it seems copilot has its own internal volume.. but it still plays it in the media stream.. .which is the volume that GMMP uses. I do have a solution for ya tho.. if you are currently using the equalizer.. just lower the preamp to a setting where you can hear the gps and music at a reasonable volume... if you arent using the equalizer.. turn it on and lower the preamp. You can leave it at flat, but the eq needs to be on in order for the preamp to work
as for controlling gmmp while hearing the directions.. i think your best bet is to try a wired remote control... i know they make some that let you plug headphones(or line out) into the remote.. then the remote into the device.
google navigator and copilot are the only gps apps i've used.. but both dont stay active unless they are in the foreground... i am willing to bet most other gps apps do the same.. but you could always look around

Hi,
Sorry it is hard to explain.... imagine that the player is running all the time..... I start Copilot & start driving. If the Copilot internal volume is at maximum then when Copilot starts talking the volume of the music is lowered for the voice but as I said the voice vol is just too loud. If I reduce the internal copilot volume by just one notch to say 95% then it is as if I have turned off the internal copilot volume, there is no copilot speech at all. Then if I turn the copilot volume back to 100% then it starts talking again. I will play with the equalizer later today, but a strange bug eh?
My Android Version is 3.2.80 (Android 3.2.1) Archos 80 G9 Turbo 1.2Ghz 250GB
Cheers

oh that is pretty odd.. the audio focus request stuff should def work on 3.2.1. 3.x has probably gotten the least amount of testing due to it being such a small part of the market share.
How do other music apps act with copilot?
It sounds like a very weird copilot bug.. i wonder if any other users have experienced it

Lol, their problem is the polar opposite of what I have as the navigation volume is deafening & distorting like hell in the speakers.... As for other music players, Jukefox, Player Pro, PowerAmp & Stock Player all behave perfectly with volume being reduced on copilot, it is just with Gonemad that reducing the volume in copilot seems to induce a mute function

i'll take a look at it.... do the other music apps lower the volume/pause when the nav is trying to say something?

Hi Mate,
Yes they do... I can honestly say that the way the other apps handle the audio is how you would expect..
BTW is there a way of adding email notification on this forum?
Cheers

well i believe i found the issue why the "obey audio requests" was not working
it'll be fixed in the next version.. i tested with google navigator and the volume of the music will drop to 25% until the directions are done
