There are 2 things I would like to see added:
1. miniature album covers when displaying the list of albums
2. native Android lockscreen support
For request 1. you can make it as an option in the UI settings so that those with low resolution screens can choose if they want to have it or not.
For request 2. it's because the ICS lockscreen on the Galaxy Nexus has some features that I would like to have fast access to without having to press unlock first.
Thanks for making one of the best music players on the Android marked and keep up the good work.
(I will see if I can add translations for Norwegian and Greek during the weekend or next week)

1) is planned but is not as high of a priority as some of the other features 2) is this an ICS type feature?

1) Good to hear that it is on the to-do list for the future.
2) In the lockscreen I can go directly to the camera or when I receive a call I can decline the call and at the same time send a pre-made message that says the reason I declined the call.

I uploaded a screen of how the stock player looks like in the lock screen. Another thing I found missing is that the player doesn't save where you paused the track ifbthe player get terminated or paused for a long time. Attachments:

okay
i've experienced the place not being saved before.. i'll make a note to look into it. It shouldnt consistently do this however. Now if the process is killed while playing a song.. it wont be able to save the position
Thanks for the feedback

I did some more testing and it is as you say something that doesn't happen often.
Might be as simple as a small "if" that returns the wrong value in certain cases.

well its a bit trickier.. on pause or exit the current position gets saved to the preferences (so next time gmmp starts up it can just read in the last position). Now you think thats all thats needed, but if the track gets changed.. the position obviously needs to be reset. In order to account for that, most other actions reset the position in the preferences (playing, next/prev track, switching to another song.. etc). What most likely is happening is there is some situation where the value in the preferences is getting reset back to 0 when it should not be.
Its something I should be able to find if I just stare at the code long enough haha.

okay well looking at the code i was able to determine a case where the position would get reset to zero.. and was able to test it and confirm it... i also understand why it seems to only happen once in awhile.
If the gmmp music service is not running.. then gets started up.. and then is killed unclearly.. it will lose its position. I believe i have a fix.. but it makes me wonder what in the world the OS is doing behind the scenes.
The times gmmp tends to lose its position is when i have it paused.. then i use a lot of other apps or use another app that is pretty resource intensive. (tonight i happened to be using navigator + gps for awhile.. and the position was reset when I went back to listen to music). So my theory is these other apps are using a lot of resources so the OS kills the gmmp music service.... now here is the part im unsure of.. maybe at some point in the future it starts the service back up then kills it again? I've seen some cases where the OS does restart services that were killed.

1.1.16 should fix the issue where position is lost after being paused for a long time

I see there's (at least partial) support for the ICS lockscreen via the RemoteControlClient API. However, even though album artwork is showing up in the player itself, all that's showing up on the lockscreen are the track and album titles. Is this a problem with my music files (a mix of ogg and mp3) or is it happening for everybody? Edit: Here are pictures of what I mean: main screen (with album art shown), same song on the lock screen (no album art displayed). Here is the expected result on the lock screen (same song with Google Play Music)

yeah right now the album art field isnt set. In all honestly, when i went to implement, it was for getting metadata to send over bluetooth (no idea if that actually works but i was directed to RemoteControlClient when searching google), so that is why the album art wasnt set. I did read that it was supposed to also work with the ICS lockscreen, but oddly enough I couldnt get it to show up initially on my transformer prime. It wasnt until a bit later when i was randomly testing something else, I saw it show up.
I'll make a note to populate the album art field for the next release
on a side note, do your ogg files have the artwork embedded in them? GMMP doesnt support art in ogg at the moment because i was never able to find any examples or a spec to code to. If this is the case, could you send me one of your ogg files that I can test with?
