Hi there
Just to say this music player is great, and thanks for all the hard work (most of these things don't support gapless playback, which is essential for me and works great on my Galaxy S2).
The only thing the player is missing for me is the ability to read Replaygain tags and adjust per-track volume accordingly, which it doesn't seem to support (and with that the option to prioritise Album Gain over Track Gain if it exists). Are there any plans to add this to the player? Obviously I don't need the player to calculate or write replaygain tags, but it would just the the icing on a delicious cake if it would read them.
Also will gapless playback (of LAME VBR mp3s) work the same on an Android 1.6 device as it does on my newer ones? This question will be the difference between me buying an Archos 48 and not, as your player is by far the best one that will run on Android 1.6.
Many thanks again!

this is the same response i sent in the email.. but i'll share it again for others Yes replaygain is on my long list of features to add. mp3 gapless playback should work on the a48 (aac/mp4 does not work for gapless tho.. archos put in a custom decoder for that that gmmp doesnt recognize). I have the archos 5IT and i believe the 48 is the same hardware just without the gps. Be warned tho, archos products are not made very well and does not come with the android market (there are ways to get it on but its not technically supported). My 5IT randomly skips during playback as well but many others seem to be able to use it fine. There is a long forum thread on the archos forums that might help you decide forum.archosfans.com/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=52515

Thanks again, great that replaygain is in your plans. Will be buying and recommending the player anyway.

Hi again There was just one more suggestion/request I have - a second shuffle mode, album shuffle like in Foobar and Apple players. Might not be too difficult to implement, just finding a random album/set of consecutive tracks with matching album tags in the playlist, and playing it in full, rather than a random track. Is this a planned feature too? I often just put my entire collection/a big playlist on album shuffle. Replaygain with 'prefer album gain' is personally the most important thing for me though. Thanks again.

go to preferences -> playlist -> on playlist completion and select play random album
when the current playlist finishes.. it will pick a random album and play it (this is one of my favorite settings/features)
