I think I got this working. I had to install Secure Settings which integrates with Tasker. Secure Settings needed a Helper app which in turn required Busy Box. Once I had that taken care of I created a new Tasker profile that was triggered by the display turning on. This fires off a new task that only runs if MPLAYSTATE is PLAYING. The task calls Secure Settings which launches the gonemad.gmmp.activities.LockscreenActivity. I don't even need to have the lockscreen options enabled in GMMP. When the screen is off I can press the power or home buttons to wake it up. 1 or 2 seconds later (I can't seem to get rid of the delay) the lock screen player shows up. It's not perfect but seems to be working most of the time.

great. Yea the lockscreen setting in gmmp just listens for the screen off intent and launches the lockscreen activity. So regardless of what launches it, it should work fine

It does seem to work now. It seems like every once in a while there is a delay for the lock screen to show up but if I'm patient it seems to always work. I use the Holo Launcher and a few days before this update I started using the Holo Locker too so I could have a landscape lockscreen. GMMP worked fine with that as well. I tried a few days with the lockscreen player enabled but decided not to use it in the end. I like having a consistent experience when unlocking my phone. This also comes into play if my wife needs to use it at times. With the lockscreen player enabled I could get the full screen player when music is playing or just the regular lock screen if I'm not listening to music. I think what I personally would use more is a lock screen widget. I've tried WidgetLocker in the past but didn't care of it. I'm thinking I'll just have to wait until they release 4.2 for the Note 2.

i'll eventually add some sort of lockscreen widget, its just a low priority thing at the moment. I believe i tried to see if i could quick port the existing widgets to be a lockscreen one but ran into some issues so i just pushed the work for a later date
