Hi,
Not sure if this is a bug or just an Android thing.
My MP3s are all located on an external SD card which is encrypted. When my phone is rebooted, I'm guessing GMMP can't see the SD right away and all my database and stats are wiped. If I go into GMMP and just "Start Scan" my music appears again and I can restore the stats if I had a recent backup.
I can't remember it ever doing it before my SD card was encrypted.
Is there anything that GMMP can do about this? Cache the library or wait longer before removing all the songs of they aren't accessible right away?
Thanks.

there should be a scanner setting about cleaning database after scan. If thats turned off it will not remove files that it cannot find. With that off, you would just have to run clean database manually whenever you removed files from the device
The scanner does all it cans to check if the storage should be scannable or not. It checks with the android OS to see if its mounted or not before trying to determine if the file is missing, but thats clearly not reliable

I've changed that setting "Clean database after scan" and rebooted and it does seem to have fixed it. I'll keep an eye on it and let you know. Cheers for that though

I now see the scanner gets activated at boot with A11 due to the Gonemad icon popping up as a notifications icon. I never saw that before updating my phone nor with older OS's
Using the advice you just gave fixed the issue though. I assume this issue is due to the new OS?
My music files are also on an SD card but the card is not encrypted so this appears to be the common thread. And is there a way to not get the scanner auto-run on at boot? I vaguely remember Gonemad V2 had such a setting but cannot find it with Gonemad v 3.1.2

gmmp scans when 1) the music service is running and 2) the android media library scan runs. Newer verisons of android must auto launch GMMP's service on startup (this is nothing i explicitly added), so its detecting the media library scan on startup. I did list this as a bug a few weeks ago on trello: trello.com/c/qSP5fNuJ

After making the change you suggested earlier I tried rebooting a few times and the database is untouched each time. Problem solved.
