the semi colon ; is the delimiter used in 3.x. Some artists have commas in their name so its not a good choice to separate multiple artists. Example: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I,_the_Breather

I got a few things/suggestions i noticed while overall using: 1. An extra library startpage would be really cool, where you can add (or pin) your own smartplaylists to quickly access them (preset could be last played or last added and best rated) and quick access buttons for Artists albums etc. 2. I got the following Problem: - Got an Interpret which did some own Tracks - The same Interpret remixed some tracks from others -> When i access the Interpret via the Artist tab and swipe over to the titles section i want to see all releases from him in chronological order, but as the remixes aren't his tracks they don't show there. Do you have any plan on how i could archive this behaviour (other than creating a smartplaylist for each Interpret). Or could you adjust the title section to show every track where the Name of the artists is contained in the artist field and the title filed? 3. I have Interprets which got different aliases (e.g. Eric Prydz makes Tracks under the name Eric Prydz and Pryda), is it somehow possible when i open "Eric Prydz" under artists that even tracks and Albums from "Pryda" are shown? 4. When there's no Album cover present it would be cool if GMMP would create his own standard" cover (e.g. just the first letters or anything of the Album Name and some random colors) and when using the blurr option blurr this standard cover. This wouldnt make it look so empty and plain when there's no Album cover present. Best greets and thanks for your help 1) Starting pages went out of style like 10 years ago. You can pin any smart playlist as a tab if you want easier access 2) you'd need to use the multiple artist feature if you want that to happen. Artist tag would be Artist1; Artist2; Artist3; etc 3) Set the album artist of all of those albums to be the same thing. Artist can remain the same. U'd have to view from the albumartist tab of course 4) Added this to the request list for you: trello.com/c/IxRT8zEg1) Every bigger streaming music service has some kind of this starting page, have a look at spotify/apple music etc. And thanks for the other explanations. Does anybody here got a decent program for tagging a whole music library (preferred using beatport / spotify as a source, as beatport got really good genre classifications and spotify got really good overall tagging). Best greets

I’ve used mp3tag for years and it is pretty robust. It has scripting support for Beatport, although I can’t advise on how that works as I don’t use that myself.

3.1.3 (2021/07/25): New: -Removed unused READ_PHONE_STATE and BROADCAST_STICKY permissions -Queue position and size is now sent over bluetooth -Added %period% to allow a literal period in custom metadata -Track and File tag editor now allows changing an individual tracks albumartist or album -Composer variable added to track list, album details, bookmark view, and queue view Fixes: -Fixed issues with substr function -Right function will now check for negative numbers -Estimate song length when 0 is returned by tag reader -Scanner notification should now always show the correct number of new tracks -Improved handling of files with no tags -Fixed issue where now playing is blank after playing a file from a file manager app -Album year variable should now correctly populate in now playing -Improved how album details view shows album art with a larger height than width -Queue should now adjust correctly after tracks are deleted -Fixed secondary color in widgets -Large lists should no longer jump position after returning to view -Fixed other various crashes It has been just over a month since the 3.1.3 update, and I just wanted to follow up to say that it is pretty much bang on for me. My iBasso DX160 DAP (running Android 8.1) is a little slow to load some of the initial libraries after a fresh start, but otherwise operating completely as I would expect. So no issues to discuss, just wanted to offer a note of thanks for this latest release. I know it is a long way down the road, but if/when you get the audio engine updates you have planned to hopefully include full hi-res support, that would make GMMP one helluva player! But at this point the interface, browser, and library management is about as good as it gets for Android.🤘🤘

the new audioengine will support higher than 16 bit and 48hz+ without downsampling

the new audioengine will support higher than 16 bit and 48hz+ without downsampling Can’t wait, but will. For anything connected by Bluetooth, it is great as is. When connected to USB-DACs or a device with better built-in DACs (all DAPs, and higher end phones like LG’s with their quad DAC), they will definitely benefit from this. Other than that, most older Android devices downsample to 48kHz for any higher resolutions anyhow. The biggest thing for me is the library management and Now Playing info, and GMMP has those down perfectly.

Is there a way to dismiss the player control bar at the bottom of the screen? Sometimes I'm just scrolling through my collection looking for various things, but not actually playing anything, and I'd like to dismiss the player bar for more screen real estate.

I have a sorting issue. I have a soundtrack album where Album Artist is Aimee Mann, and four tracks are by three other artists. I have Aimee Mann set as Artist for all the other tracks, and I use Artist Sort and Album Artist Sort accordingly on all tracks. Those four other tracks are by Supertramp,Jon Brion and Gabrielle. In the Album Artists list, Supertramp is showing up in the "M"s, between Aimee Mann and A.C. Marias. In the Artists list, all three of the additional artists are between Mann and Marias. Any ideas?

An album can only have a single album artist associated with it Ok, here is a description of the attachments (hopefully they show up in this order): 1. GoneMad player, showing the Album Artists list and Artists list side by side. 2. Foobar2000, showing Album Artist and Album Artist Sort tags for the Aimee Mann soundtrack album. 3. Foobar2000, showing Artist and Artist Sort tags for the Aimee Mann soundtrack album. For both GoneMad lists, I have the "Use Sort Tags" Modifier checked.
GoneMad is displaying Supertramp within the M's of both the Album Artists and Artists lists, instead of in the S's. Gabrielle and Jon Brion (Brion, Jon) are both showing up in the M's of the Artists list instead of in the G's and B's, respectively. For what it's worth, those are the only tracks in my collection with Gabrielle and Jon Brion. Also, I have two albums by Supertramp, where their name is set in the Artist tag, with no Artist Sort tag set. When viewing Song Info for the Supertramp albums in GoneMad, it has filled the Artist Sort tags with "Supertramp" (as expected). When tagging with Foobar2000, I normally leave the Sort fields empty unless the value is actually different. For this one Aimee Mann Album, I filled them all to see if that would solve the GoneMad display issue.

Do your tags actually have the value including the word Order? If so that is not the actual tag name. Are these ID3 or APE tags?
I use Artist, Artistsort, AlbumArtist, and Albumartistsort in a very similar fashion to what you are asking above. Mostly for Various Artists compilations, but there are some other uses such as tribute albums where I leave the AlbumArtist as the tribute and show the Artist/Artistsort as the performer by track. GMMP has no issues in my library with FLAC, ALAC, or mp3 versions.

GMMP has no issues in my library with FLAC, ALAC, or mp3 versions. I'm not 100% how foobar2000 handles tags. From their documentation, I think that the tag names shown in the previous screenshots are what it uses internally, and it then maps those to whatever target you're using in its settings, as shown in the foobar2000 settings screenshot below. I think that means it's mapping its internal tags to ID3v2.4 tags.
Either way, your app is recognizing all of the Artist, Artist Sort, Album Artist, and Album Artist Sort for everything else in my collection, and everything was tagged using foobar. When I find sorting discrepancies in GoneMad, I correct the tags with foobar2000 and that fixes them in GoneMad.
