I got a few things/suggestions i noticed while overall using: 1. An extra library startpage would be really cool, where you can add (or pin) your own smartplaylists to quickly access them (preset could be last played or last added and best rated) and quick access buttons for Artists albums etc. 2. I got the following Problem: - Got an Interpret which did some own Tracks - The same Interpret remixed some tracks from others -> When i access the Interpret via the Artist tab and swipe over to the titles section i want to see all releases from him in chronological order, but as the remixes aren't his tracks they don't show there. Do you have any plan on how i could archive this behaviour (other than creating a smartplaylist for each Interpret). Or could you adjust the title section to show every track where the Name of the artists is contained in the artist field and the title filed? 3. I have Interprets which got different aliases (e.g. Eric Prydz makes Tracks under the name Eric Prydz and Pryda), is it somehow possible when i open "Eric Prydz" under artists that even tracks and Albums from "Pryda" are shown? 4. When there's no Album cover present it would be cool if GMMP would create his own standard" cover (e.g. just the first letters or anything of the Album Name and some random colors) and when using the blurr option blurr this standard cover. This wouldnt make it look so empty and plain when there's no Album cover present. Best greets and thanks for your help

You can pin any smart playlist as a tab if you want easier access 2) you'd need to use the multiple artist feature if you want that to happen. Artist tag would be Artist1; Artist2; Artist3; etc 3) Set the album artist of all of those albums to be the same thing. Artist can remain the same. U'd have to view from the albumartist tab of course 4) Added this to the request list for you: trello.com/c/IxRT8zEg

Same Albums having different Album Artists appearing twice or thrice Need an option to group albums by year Change this setting to “ Never” if the files are grouped together. Settings>Scanner>Ignore Year If not, you will need to make sure the AlbumArtist tag is properly formatted in these files. If the Album titles are the exact same, only the AlbumArtist field will distinguish them apart. This is the same in all players, at least those that use the AlbumArtist tag. If these ideas still don’t work in your case, you will need to adjust any similarly named Albums to make sure their tags are unique, even if they look similar. Add an extra space between words on one, use similar Unicode characters, use an underscore, or others. There is no other way for a player to separate Albums otherwise. There are albums with multiple album artists. I wish to merge them with year tag. With all due respect to the Gonemad Player which is my favourite music player for years now, Recently I found an option to merge albums if they have same year in the Musicolet music player. I wish to have that feature in Gonemad too Sorry if I'm wrong

Using different tags for this will break the Album in most players, by design of the tag. You can use multiple Artists in the AlbumArtist tag, separated by a semicolon+ space “; “ that GMMP will see and split while keeping the Album intact. I have just one album out of over 2000 that needed this (Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson in a Best Of compilation that I preferred to not have Various Artists as the AlbumArtist). Some other players may also work, but some significant others will not, including iTunes and WMP.

An album can have multiple artists, but only a single albumartist is allowed.

So how would you handle this if there were actually two different albums with the same name, in the same year, by two separate artists? Like The albums “Faith” by George Michael and Faith Hill? I don’t think this is the ideal way to handle the tagging. There is already a standard in place for this and GMMP follows that correctly, even when using the AlbumSort and AlbumArtistSort tags if you really want to get specific. Simply expecting the year tag to make this difference will cause more issues than it resolves, IMO.

I wish to have that feature in Gonemad too Sorry if I'm wrong BTW - You do know there is a difference between the Artist tag for each track (can match the AlbumArtist, or be completely different) and the AlbumArtist tag which is typically unique for each actual Album either by a single group, or at least something like “ Various Artists” or “ Compilation” for those Albums with a collection of Artists? An actual Album by more than one AlbumArtist is very rare.

I'm from India where the music & tags are different from the western culture Here the Composer tag = Album Artist tag in western Sorry I don't want to bring Musicolet here but its an Indian music player arranges albums by Composer not by Album Artists. It has an option to merge albums if they have same year or same composer etc. But the app heavily sucks on customisation features we have on GoneMad I'm just asking is it possible to add an option to merge albums if they have same year or composer

The app was designed for the correct usage of the albumartist tag and its not feasible to do what you want. Using composer for the album artist is incorrect according to the tag specifications. You are the first person from india I've heard even mention this in the 10+ years i've been developing the app. Regardless, just update all your albumartist tags to match the composer and you are fine. What you have in your albumartist tag currently is 100% incorrect even if your area of the world uses the composer tag as an albumartist replacement. An album can only ever have a single albumartist by definition, which is why that tag is used for grouping edit: I probably linked this before, but this page shows steps to make sure your music is correctly grouped together: gonemadmusicplayer.blogspot.com/p/dealing-with-split-albums.html

It has an option to merge albums if they have same year or same composer etc. I’m pretty sure that app supports AlbumArtist and Composer tags, just looking at the tag editor screen shot. But that is irrelevant since the id3 standard is what should be followed regardless of the localization. I’ll stick with GMMP and the benefits of the customization it provides while following the standards.

When enabling full screen mode on the now playing screen, the Android upper status and bottom navigation bars disappear as expected. The now playing screen bottom boundary drops lower to take advantage of the space from the navigation bar, but doesn’t move up to use the real estate from the status bar. You can see this as the search magnifying glass and hamburger menu icons don’t move. If this can be addressed it helps increase the area available for the album artwork to stay wide, especially on lower ratio screens.

Thats because GMMP's UI already draws under the status bar (layout 1's artwork shows under it). There is nothing to shift up edit: just to note that i agree that would useful in freeing up some space. I'll make a note on trello

What's the seperator for multiple artists in 3.1.x? Does ',' (commma) can be used as a seperator?
