This isn't really a GMMP issue but...
On Android 11, the sync of stats (play count and rating) FROM GMMP to Musicbee via the sync app doesn't work (Musicbee wifi sync app).
I believe it is due to the Musicbee wifi sync app not being updated for Android 11 file permissions and is now no longer able to access the /gmmp/stats.xml which is hard coded in the sync app.
Is there anything that gmmp can do to allow access for this app (https://developer.android.com/training/secure-file-sharing/setup-sharing) or is it all down to the Musicbee wifi app needing to be updated properly?
It's a real shame I can't sync this data back to my PC as I love to see the stats of the songs and ratings!

nah that is something musicbee dev needs to update. GMMP doesnt write to any special file location (although later this year i will have to change that around due to google forcing app updates to target android 11.. but that wont be til sometime after november)
if the musicbee app isnt targetting android 11, but android 10 it can simply request legacy storage access and be able to read anywhere.. so that would be a trivial update on his end

That's a shame but thanks for the update.
The dev has said there isn't time to do it at the moment and just pointed to the git of the source code (https://github.com/mayallst/MusicBeeWifiSync).
I am correct in thinking that the legacy storage access would stop working at some point anyway so would be a temporary fix?

The legacy storage option works up to and including android 11 as long as the app targets android 10. Once targeting 11 it stops working for Android 11+
It's a simple flag in the manifest and what gmmp currently is using for storage access
