it was annoying me for a while that i had some random artwork in the player bar since the last update. i have re-installed etc, cleared data and cache within apps in android. since re-scanning it doesn't automatically find tracks. if i point it to the folder where i have 13939 tracks it might find 3000, no playlists (m3u). tried everything. it all worked before the last 2 updates

has your phone updated to android 11 in the last week or so? Android 11 on some devices (or well just nokia 8.3 that i know of so far) is aggressively killing the scanner after like 40 seconds which doesnt allow it to pick up any more tracks (there is another thread on the forums talking about that). I ask this because 3.0.6 only had some very minor changes that wouldnt cause this issue.
"if i point it to the folder where i have 13939 tracks it might find 3000"
I take it you means you are setting your scan paths to the folder in the advanced scanner settings? Did you try turning off the "ignore folders with .nomedia" setting? That would at least rule out there being a nomedia file somewhere causing the scanner to skip it

now i've added tracks to playlists there are still issues. i can see new tracks but they won't play. now it's only scanning and finding 54 tracks out of 13000. cleared cache and data. now only found 2600 tracks. this used to be my go to player but i'm having loads of problems since the last 2 updates. artwork is all over the place. it's picking jpegs from random photo albums and adding them to my playlists as mp3's without any data content. gonna have to go back to the default player for the first time in years. something is wrong somewhere

all my audio files and playlists (m3u) are all in one folder on my external sd card. i point the scan path to that folder. tried everything. deleted data, cache etc uninstalled app. reinstalled app. still random in results of how many tracks are found

even synced over usb as opposed to wifi. must be your app. i'm confident it's not my phone or the way i'm doing things as i've had the app for years

cleared cache and data. uninstalled latest version. installed old version. edited scan path to the folder on my sd card which contains mp3 music files and m3u playlist files which are exported from itunes using isyncr app. started scan. all media and playlists found. 275 playlists and 13939 mp3 audio files. seems it all works fine on 2.3.2 but not on 3.0.7 which is a shame because i liked the later version but even with the don't kill my app running the later version fails to find all the audio content and playlists on my sd card despite permissions enabled. i'm sure if i now update to the latest version it will work until it rescans. when it rescans it will find new tracks added to playlists exported from itunes (as m3u's) and show them in gmmp but they won't play as not all the content is found on the later gmmp scan. i have tried other players from new installs (samsung music & rocket player) and both apps have no issues finding media content or m3u playlists on my sd card so i'm at a loss as to why the new gmmp fails scanning.

send in your database from classic (general -> send database) and if you happen to know some specific album that doesnt get scanned in 3.0.7 let me know
classic and the regular are separate apps now so you cant upgrade classic to the current (different packages)

as predicted. reverted back to latest version and same scanning issues. my conclusion is the old version works perfectly but the new version doesn't as it fails to find entire content. i appreciate you don't have any issues but i can't use the later version on my samsung s8 with android 9

sorry.. and if you have both installed (classic and 3.0). sending an error report from 3.0 would help as well so i can compare the 2
3.0 is a complete rewrite so teh code bases are different. The scanner itself works pretty similar, but its not the same code

tried generating reports, now given up. load of rubbish mate. you obviously have some issues with the latest release. got another player that's more reliable. have had to amend my review as follows:been using for years and initially gave a 5 star review. liked the update then problems arose, v3 won't fully scan. cannot now be bothered and have gone to another player. tried to send info to developer but after 3 days of trying to resolve i've now given up
