k.. might be something with having one being the default and the other being custom. The code handles it differently Currently both views are set to my custom landscape metadata. If I set the portrait view to a different custom metadata (same as landscape except for no album name), the portrait view is as expected, but the landscape view loses the album name. Both are custom at this point.

i probably konw what the issue is. try a different custom metadata in portrait.. but one that also has the album name.. see if album shows up in landscape after that. Im guessing the database query is not being refreshed on the screen rotation to include the album name

If the two different metadatas have album name included, it shows in both views.

Hi! I'm really struggling to make a custom view for the tracklist inside the album page. I'm no expert so I find it really hard to format the .json file in the right way, even when I try to copy the ones in the .zip file that you linked in the initial post. Since I just wanted to make a little edit on one of the premade views inside the app I thought that you could easily help me. What shoud I put in the custom field if I want the same exact view of the attached screenshot but without the artist name under tracknames? Everything else is just perfect where it is. Attachments:

Try this - you may need to play with the size to match your screenshot.
[ { "markupLines" : [ ["<weight=0.80><align=left><wrap><size=15>%tr%","<weight=0.20><align=right><size=15>%du%"], ["<align=right><size=14>%ra%"] ] } ]

All the built in presets use even number sizes. The default is either 14/12 or 16/14. the other tweak from above would be to remove the <wrap> if you dont want the trackname to wrap to the next line if it is long (most of the built in presets dont wrap)

Thank you both, it worked perfectly and it also helped me understand how this works!

added in 3.1:
%startparen% - literal starting parenthesis (
%endparen% - literal ending parenthesis )

added in 3.1: %startparen% - literal starting parenthesis ( %endparen% - literal ending parenthesis ) This is very helpful, thanks for implementing these. Can I request one more literal to be added in the future, for a standard space character? If %space% was available it would fix the display issues when using two or more functions back to back. Currently any leading and trailing spaces get trimmed when used in functions.

The literals are trivial to add. Cool. If it becomes an issue for others text, is something more generic like a $char(xxx) function that can be used? Not sure if this would be usable with Unicode, but at least ASCII might reduce the number of literals you'll have to add.

yea might be able to do something with ascii/utf8 hex codes. Java/Kotlin strings are utf8 by default and i think the whole ascii table is included in utf8
