Really like the app, the "random album" button was the selling point for me. I just switched phones and am having some weird effects with the headset button for pause/play when the screen is turned off. Any ideas on what could be going would be appreciated.
When the screen shuts off and music is playing I can pause by pressing the headset button.
If I click the headset button within 2-3 seconds it will resume.
If I wait longer it will not resume when the button is pressed. Pressing the button a second time will resume playback for a split second then pause again (as if the first button was "remembered" but had no effect until the second press). A third press (within 2-3 seconds) will resume the music.
I've also noticed that if after pressing the button to resume the first time AND I turn the screen on the playback will resume.
I've tried a few headsets and tried looking through my phone and GMMP app settings and I'm not sure what is happening.
Thanks!

there are some cases that the OS will kill the music service and restart it.. making gmmp lose audiofocus(which is required to receive button presses). I'm rolling out some changes to the beta soon that will attempt to regain audiofocus on restart. If that doesnt work then i dont really know what toe tell you. Its up to the OS to correctly send gmmp the media button presses

For what it's worth, I've been running into the same problem as well - both on my old phone (Samsung S4 on KitKat running 2.1.3) and my new phone (Xperia X Compact on Nougat running 2.2.3). Is there any setting we can use to retain audiofocus even when the device goes to sleep or is that completely up to the OS? Thanks, let me know if there's anything we can test.

gmmp already does all it can to regain focus after restart
keep in mind that by default gmmp does a smart resume.. meaning it only will resume on plug in if it was paused by unplugging. Manually pausing and then unplugging will not cause it resume when plugged back in. You can change that behavior in the settings

I've seen this too. I use a couple of different audio players (audio books, podcasts, other music players) and only GMMP have this problem, so I don't think it is caused by the OS restarting the music service.
