First of all I want to thank you for this great app. I'm testing several Players for some weeks and for me GoneMad is absolutly the best (for big collections). But there is one little point disappointing me: the poor soundquality (sorry to say that).
My phone is a Samsung Galaxy J5 with the great "Adapt Sound" feature and just that doesn't work in GoneMad ;-(
GoneMad EQ is disabled, external DSP is enabled. In effects the EQ is off. I have tried all possible combinations and resets, restarts, ... reinstallations ... nothing helps.
If you once have listened to "Adapt Sound" you will never touch any EQ. It is amazing, it is perfect. You won't reach this quality with any EQ.
In all players I have tested (Pulsar, shuttle, Rocket, ... ) the "Adapt Sound" is working. All players have the same excellent soundquality with "Adapt Sound". Except GoneMad. Very annoying.
Is there any chance to get "Adapt Sound" working in GoneMad?

sounds like samsung didnt implement their adapt sound feature correctly as an external dsp (no surprise their.. they dont follow any standards).
Does it work with rocket player pro or just the free version (rocket player uses GMMP's audioengine in the paid version)?
The only suggestion i have is to try disabling the custom audioengine since the apps you mention are ones built off the stock android media player. Prefs -> Audio -> Playback -> Enable custom audioengine (or its named something like that).
Btw, adapt sound is just a glorified equalizer specific for each ear. GMMP's equalizer is excellent. People mistake loudness for sound quality. The default presets for the equalizer tend to lower the preamp to prevent clipping and can be mistaken for lower quality since it doesnt appear as loud

Thank you for your answer.
The Rocket Player is the free version.
I didn't find a solution with the settings you said. I didn't find the right switches, settings ...
My experiences with adapt sound are really very good. The sound is very natural, clean and calm. The EQ however always sounds a bit stressful and bent. But nevertheless I will take another look on it.

if you cant find the setting you need to keep looking, its there in the audio -> playback portion of the settings. If you are not running GMMP 2.1.4 you need to update to that

Menu > Preferences > Audio > Playback > Enable Custom AudioEngine
It's a checkbox that I believe is checked by default, which is the way I leave it because (best as I can recall) it enables GMMP's excellent gapless playback.

That was the point. First I misunderstood, sorry.
Now the adapt sound is working fine in GoneMad! Finally I can use this wonderful Player. The best player in organizing large mp3-collections and customizing the UI.
Great player, great sound ... great support!
Thanks a lot. ;-)

Thanks MrGoodtunes and you are correct, the custom audioengine brings the good gapless playback + crossfade/replaygain/gmmp eq/etc
