Device: Huawei mediapad M3 android 6.0 Music directory on External SD GMMP 2.1.3
I have about 4200 songs on the external SDcard, all of them have ID3V2.3 tags All of them are rated using GMMP
When I select to backup the stats the popup says "saving..." for about a second. The file stats.xml is created correctly but the music files are not updated, if i transfer them to the pc and I open them with mp3tags, they do not contain any ratings.
If I manually set the rating into GMMP the rating gets correctly written to the file. Mp3tag shows the correct rating as GMAE|xxx|0 Even tag editing inside GMMP works fine, the files are updated correctly. So I guess there are no external SDcard accessing issues!
The problem seems to be related only to the mass rating write.
Any idea?

Also recreate the issue and get a logcat and email it in. Google gonemad logcat and it should bring up a post on how to do that

Are you checking files with ratings actually greater than 0? It wont backup something with no rating

Are you checking files with ratings actually greater than 0? It wont backup something with no rating The files I am trying to edit have been allocated into an Unknown Artist Folder, which has a 0 rating. So how do I change this rating to then allow me to edit?

i dont understand the question... you can rate any file using the rate option. YOu should also probably fix the tags so they have an artist
