I'm using the Full Version Unlocked, 1.5.0.4, and I get more bass with bass boost turned off than with bass boost turned on. This is different than it used to be. I'm using GMMP on a Motorola Razr M running Android version 4.1.2.
Thanks.
Great music player!

On my nexus 5 and moto g it seems to have heavier bass with it enabled compared to when its turned off.. so i would guess your installation got messed up during an update

I uninstalled and reinstalled GMMP. After that the bass boost button on the Effects page still had more boost when it says "off" than when it's "on". Then I uninstalled, rebooted, and reinstalled. Now bass boost works correctly, at least through the headphone jack. I don't know if it works over bluetooth. I'll try that in my car where I first noticed the issue when my rear view mirror started vibrating. ;-)
Thanks!
P.S.: I noticed that the "..." menu works fine in "Now Playing". It used to be that to exit GMMP I would have to access "..." from a tab other than "Now Playing", e.g. "Queue".

I can confirm now that when playing over bluetooth GMMP's bass boost button in the Effects tab works as expected.
YAY. *Everything* works, and I mean everything about GMMP. Thanks!

I am using GMMP's own equalizer with bass boost on my Galaxy S4, too. After an Update, bass boost stopped working, when turning the volume up or down or getting a message in active mode In silent mode (just vibrating) bass boost still works after getting a message. The next Update caused the bass boost to stop after pressing play/pause. I've seen the new update today. So I've cleared the cache and uninstalled/reinstalled the player. I've deactivated and activated the GMMP-EQ and it worked. Pressing play/pause didn't let the bass boost stop, but after turning the volume up, both "bugs" appeared again Pressing play/pause, Volume +/- or getting a message on the phone in active mode causes bass boost to stop on my S4 :/

Update was a color change in the notifications (for android 5.0) and the addition of greek translations.. nothing else was even remotely touched

I did reinstall everything. After pressing +/-, the same bugs appeared again. Or do I have to delete the cache AND user data?

Try not restoring settings / ratings or anything if you were doing that. I dont know what else to tell you, the changes i made did not affect bass boost at all.

I had different strange behaviors over time. My first version was flawless and then update after update, strange things happened. It wasn't just after the last update. In the end, the bug was the same, but the way it got there was different :-) Yesterday I've uninstalled everything without restoring anything and it happened again. I also uninstalled every other music app or EQ. My Friend has a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and none of my Problems.

I probably mentioned this before but bass boost is literally something i just set to be on or off.. thats it.. its part of the OS

Hm, strange. From update to update the symptoms changed... Is there a way to track what's my phone doing, when those bugs occur?

Heyho, it's me again I've finally got a new phone (Galaxy S5). I've tried GMMP with Kitkat 4.4.2 and the latest Lollipop. My first experience with the S5 was the low output volume. That should be an issue with the phone. Good news was, the strange equalizer behavior of my S4 is gone! After switching the music effects from SoundAlive to Music FX, equalizer started to work. At first I couldn't get the Bass Boost working as strong as on the S4. If I've changed the value the phone needed to be restarted to accept it. So far, so good. A value of 70% didn't change much (70% on my S4 was really strong). In the end 90-95% gave me the best results. 100% seems to turn of the Bass Boost... The thing is, my phone wasn't really happy with Kitkat, so I had to update to Lollipop :/. At first I've noticed that the music effects section is gone in the Android settings. Bass Boost works, but it isn't nearly as strong as on KitKat. If I turn it on/off, I can hear the differences, but the strong punch is gone Do you have any clue? PS: My S5 isn't rooted.

bass boost and the virtualizer are android effects, so they are different on every phone. All GMMP does is set a percentage between 0-100.
