OK this is embarrassing now because the auto-downloader suddenly started working overnight. I guess it's ZX507's fault because there were also some weird behavior back in 2.x, which I never experienced with my smartphones. Currently auto-scanner seems to be not working for me either, especially when I'm using Musicbee Wifi App to transfer files. But I suggest that you work on beta for general devices for now. Maybe device-specific issues can be addressed in non-beta version in the future, or, who knows, Sony might fix it in fututre firmware updates. do those songs show up in other music players? On music service startup gmmp compares the number of tracks with the android media library and if there is a difference it runs a scan. It also runs a scan when the android media library triggers a scan as well. Also are you sure your paths are added to the scanner? By default its only the music folder on main storage and sdcard (final release will prompt on first launch to setup the scanner)

I'm not sure which phase this would fall under, but Tasker integration is not working Bugs, something not working, UI elements not showing up correctly, etc are always welcome to be posted. Tasker bug has been fixed in my internal build. It was reporting stopped instead of paused and paused instead of played. Will be in next update.

It also runs a scan when the android media library triggers a scan as well. Also are you sure your paths are added to the scanner? By default its only the music folder on main storage and sdcard (final release will prompt on first launch to setup the scanner) They do show up in ZX507's stock music player (aka Walkman app). When I start it, it automatically triggers a re-scan of library. Since the stock player was tailor-made for ZX507, I'm not much surprised by this. I haven't tried other 3rd party music players. In GMMP, the music files do not appear in library, and they do appear in the folder tab but GMMP seems to fail to read any of the tag and says the track is unplayable when I attempt to play it. I store all my music on the SD card and that's the only path specified in the scanner setting.
If I had to bring it up, I probably should also mention that the Musicbee Wifi App sometimes fails to sync, especially after turning off flight mode, asking for 'unlocked version of GMMP' which I do have. Musicbee dev says it can occur when GMMP 'fails to generate the stats.xml file', but I can confirm that stats.xml is right there. What's weirder is that, if I restart the device and run Wifi sync right away, it would reverse sync the playcount with no problem. That's why I suspect that, maybe there are some hidden restriction of storage handling or something in ZX507, although it's supposed to be pure Android.
Anyway, as I said, I don't expect this to be solved very soon as it's highly possibly a device-specific problem. I should be able to find some work-around. Also, thank you for your hard working on making GMMP better and better. I've never mentioned but I've enjoyed using it for more than 4 years now.

i dont know if the musicbee dev has updated for 3.0 yet (3.0 alpha was a different package name) But yea that issue sounds pretty device specific.. the fact that the folder view can see the files but not read them seems odd. The audioengine/tag reader hasnt really changed at all. It should be able to read them assuming they are valid. Another possibility is sdcard issues as to why they cant be read correctly

I don't see the disk button on the EQ settings tab to save a custom EQ. Is it truly missing or did I miss it?

The re-scan issue and Wifi sync issue were both present with 2.x when using ZX507. With my smartphone though, I've never experienced any issue. But come to think of it, I didn't re-format my SD card when I moved to ZX507 from my phone, so maybe I should try that sometime. Maybe not any soon, but I'll come back and update when I do.

3.0 Beta 1b (01/03/2020): -Fixed bottom of equalizer view being cut off EQ issue -> fixed -> Now I can see all bands (10 by 10 ) In addition, look what I mean reg. sorting album artist / genre 1. The artist view -> with sorting so I can remove album artist
2. The genre view -> without sorting so I cannot remove album artist

Next: Queue -> enqueing -> preparing 1. artist view -> If I select the whole artist (a step before you see all the albums), all albums of the artist are played resp. added to the queue Here you can see the correct sorting of the albums
2. All albums are now @queue, but the sorting is by title name (alphabetical sorting of the title name of all albums)? instead of the correct sorting order -> artist -> album -> track number.... (all files are correct tagged with artist, album, title, year, tracknumber) The sorting entry missed @queue btw. the first title @queue is not the first title @album or it is the first album -> see above, you can see the first album of the artist at first.
- reg. album artists information (cover etc. pp). All files are tagged with album cover inside of every music file (FLAC / MP3) AND with cover.jpg / folder.jpg in every folder folder structure artist -> album It worked in every case with all 2.x versions, but I never used the album artist tag - but gmmp 3 beta DL information reg. album artist although I disabled the function

It uses the sort order of the artist's song tab which is by title by default I dont understand what you are trying to say about the art. What is incorrect? If you have images in the same folder as your album gmmp will use that and not download anything. If you dont use the album artist tag then gmmp uses the artist tag for it. Every track in gmmp has an album artist. What is showing up incorrectly? There is no setting to turn off downloads, just to limit to wifi only

1. Reg. Queue sorting -> the whole queue is not usable with this kind of sorting.... if I use the whole artist with all albums the player has to play the whole album structure... @version 2.xx it was easier to find the correct sorting options. Behind artist -> the album is sorted by track number, not by title Behind album -> the sorting is Artist -> Album -> track number, not by title Behind genre -> the sorting is Genre -> Artist -> album -> track number, not by title Only at tab title (behind album) @artist view -> the sorting is title from A to Z, but I never selected the title tab, just only the artist tab and it works perfect with the queue of version 2.xx I tested it a few seconds ago.... version 2.xx Go to artist view -> select the artist -> add all albums of this artist to the queue -> go the queue and voila, the queue is filled 1:1 with all albums and the sorting is correct with the first album by the added artist with the correct track (number) Please add this behaviour to the queue or add a sorting option to the queue.... 2. Reg. art.... sorry, my fault. It seems the beta listed old arts copied by a previous version which I installed last year - but it never detect cause of non-using the album artist tag. After deletion the files from the folder, the view is correct now. art used by gmmp behind folders gmmp -> albumart -> for normal (CD) cover artwork? -> artistart -> for photos of artists? I detect non-cd-cover artworks / photos of artists and they displayed while using the artist album tag... I don't know about this kind of artwork...^^

I detect non-cd-cover artworks / photos of artists and they displayed while using the artist album tag... I don't know about this kind of artwork...^^ When you play an artist you play all their songs.. so it makes sense to sort by how the song tab is sorted. It is how 2.x was. 2.x used the sort order of "All tracks" for an artist. Nothing has changed (besides maybe the default sort order of the song list for an artist.. i'd have to check.. maybe thats where the difference is, but thats trivial to change for the user). If enough people complain maybe i'll add a separate setting for it, but so far you are the only one that has had a major issue with it. Anyone else that has asked about it simply says "okay thanks" when i tell them how to change it. The final release of 3.0 will have help sections for every UI and other things to help new users. That is not coming until the end of the beta 2) not using an album artist tag should be no issue with art as it uses the artist tag instead. Album art is the album cover that you see when you have the physical cd. artist art is imagery of the band or artist. Artist art is for both album artist and artist tags. If it cant find anything online the search will end up picking up associated album art and use that for the artist If you dont want to show it you can just change to List - No Art in the view mode menu

So i just checked 2.x and the default sort order for All songs is in fact to sort by album then track number. So we are both right. Simply change the sort order in 3.0 and you will get your desired behavior. I'll look into changing the default
